Who Needs Doggie Daycare?

Hyper Dogs

Anxious Dogs

Anxious Dogs

Dog daycare can be a great option for high-energy dogs because it provides physical exercise and mental stimulation. Dogs can run around and play with other dogs, which can help them burn off energy. Daycare can also help dogs learn good behavior and adjust to new dogs. Dogs who attend daycare may become more relaxed and manageable. They can also learn social skills and make new friends!

Anxious Dogs

Dog daycare can be a helpful option for dogs that don't like to be home alone. It can decrease destructive behaviors like barking or chewing, and your dog will likely come home mentally exhausted and ready for a nap. It can also help to build confidence while pups are away from home enduring new environments and interactions.

Bored Dogs

Less active lifestyles can be damaging to pets bodies and minds. Dogs who spend a lot of time alone can learn to adapt to this slow-paced routine, but by limiting their physical and mental activity, they could be prone to weight issues, mobility issues, overeating, and poor digestion. Doggie daycare can provide dogs with socialization, mental stimulation, and physical exercise, which are essential for their overall well-being.

Every Daycare Dog Starts with an Evaluation

The evaluation allows your dog to meet the staff to ensure that they are able to be handled as well as evaluating a group play setting. Your dog will meet a few dogs of varying sizes and personalities in a controlled area. After being given an opportunity to sniff and explore, new dogs will be introduced, one at a time. This gives the handlers the opportunity to see if your dog is going to continue to be comfortable with meeting dogs as the group gets larger.

If the evaluation is passed then staff will walk you through the process of scheduling your dog for future daycare dates.

If your daycare tells you that your dog does not enjoy daycare or is not the right fit for their daycare group, it doesn’t mean that your dog is bad.

The barking lot staff offers full transparency, as their goal is to provide the safest, most fun experience for all of our furry friends. If your dog shows signs that they aren’t suited for daycare, the team will be open and honest about it.

Daycare is not for Every Dog

- There are a few factors to consider before enrolling your dogs in daycare services. Sadly, not every dog is suited for daycare

  • Poorly or unsocialized dogs could potentially be overwhelmed, aggressive, or anti-social at daycare
  • If your dog has past incidents of dog or human aggression, then daycare could be unsafe for your dog, other dogs, and staff
  • While not a deal-breaker, unaltered pets can be challenging to incorporate in daycare activities and group play

-Fortunately, daycare staff will do an evaluation of your pet to determine whether or not they are suited for daycare services
